A strap set for a shirt is the wrong strap by the middle of winter. This one adjusts, and the height it lands at is your decision rather than the bag's. Put a coat on underneath and it takes a second to put right. The closure is a magnet on some of them and a zip on others, and either one opens with a thumb.
Shoulder bags beside a tote
The totes hold considerably more, and there are weeks where that turns out to be the problem rather than the solution. A single strap means one shoulder does the work and the other stays free. Dinner is a different question, answered by a clutch. Most of what is inside has been in there a while.
