Black Blazers

Two blazers, and the line between them

With no colour to read, the shape is the only thing left to notice. One is held close through the body with the waist marked. The oversized blazers go longer and easier through the shoulder. Lapels run narrow on the closer shape and wide on the other. Sleeves finish at the wrist bone.

The black blazer after six o'clock

Half of winter it spends under a coat, doing its work out of sight. Open, with the cuffs turned back, none of the formality survives. Black pants take the same shade downward and the pair reads as a suit. After dark it goes over a slip dress and asks for nothing else. The pockets sit flat and there is nothing in them by the end of a night.
