Style, Motherhood and Creating Space — Courtney McIntosh of THE INARRA

Following the birth of her first son, THE INNARA founder Courtney McIntosh found herself craving a space that reflected the woman she was becoming — "a mother, yes, but still a woman with style, curiosity, ambition, and a desire for connection." When she couldn't quite find that space, she decided to create it herself. Enter THE INARRA, an online platform that connects with women at all stages of motherhood.

What began as a passion-fuelled creative outlet in those hazy, early days of motherhood has since grown into a vibrant community of women who care about style, substance, identity and softness.

"My hope is that it feels like a soft landing place… thoughtful, elevated, and very real. A space that champions modern mothers, celebrates personal style, and gathers stories that make us feel less alone. Whether someone comes to THE INARRA for inspiration, reassurance or just a moment to breathe, I want them to leave feeling seen — or wanting to come back for more."

Courtney is now expecting her third child — another chapter of evolution. "With each pregnancy, I've grown more confident in styling a changing body. I've let go of hiding anything and instead focus on wearing pieces that help me feel like myself — even on days when I'm exhausted or trying to make the school pick-up in one piece. Style becomes a kind of quiet support through it all."

That shift has rippled through her entire approach to style. "I used to plan outfits around how they looked — now I plan around how they feel. I'm drawn to versatile, comfortable pieces that still feel elevated, never fussy. I love the idea of a smaller, more intentional wardrobe that truly works for the way I live."

As for the juggle of business, motherhood and moments for herself, Courtney is pragmatic. "Some days feel balanced, others don't. I've learned to lean into the rhythm of each week instead of trying to control it. I'm grateful for the flexibility of working for myself — if my workload allows, I can head to a Pilates class after school drop-off, which does wonders for my headspace. For me, it's less about perfect balance and more about being fully present where I am — mum mode, work mode, or just twenty minutes to myself. I try to give myself fully to it and let go of the guilt around the rest. Easier said than done, but I'm working on it."

As for what's next for THE INARRA, Courtney reveals, "There are a few exciting projects in the works. It won't be long before we introduce a new concept or two to the community. I'm really excited about that."
